The characteristics and use of cold drawn steel tube

At present, in the production of seamless steel tube, cold rolling and hot rolling can be used. The so-called hot-rolled hot processing, cold-drawn steel tube refers to the cold-worked steel pipe. In hot rolling, rolling is performed at a temperature higher than the recrystallization temperature, and cold rolling of a cold-drawn steel tube is performed at a temperature lower than the recrystallization temperature.

 

Of course, when cold-drawing steel tube are sometimes produced, they need to be warmed, but the heating temperature is relatively low. This is because hard working occurs after cold rolling, and annealing is also required if the molding requirements for the material are relatively high. Cold rolling and hot rolling are generally sheets or profiles, while cold drawing is generally a cylindrical section wire. In addition, the hot-rolled sheet is generally a steel with a high alloy content and high strength, and the cold-rolled steel is a low-carbon low-alloy steel. The cold rolling can improve the strength and ensure the surface quality of the material.

 

Cold-drawn steel tube is divided into two kinds of round tube and shaped tube. In actual production, it is usually required to draw a plurality of times, and a corresponding stress relief annealing is required between each drawing to ensure that the next cold drawing is performed smoothly.

 

From the appearance point of view, usually the diameter of cold-drawn steel pipe products is relatively small, while the diameter of hot-rolled seamless steel pipes is relatively large. At the same time, the accuracy of cold-rolled seamless steel tubes is higher than that of hot-rolled seamless steel tubes, and the price is also higher than that of hot rolled seamless steel tubes The cold-drawn seamless tubes generally have a smaller diameter and basically do not exceed 127 mm. In particular, the precision of the cold drawn seamless tube outer diameter is very high, and the length of the cold drawn seamless tube is generally shorter than the hot rolled seamless tube. In terms of wall thickness, cold-drawn seamless tubes are evener than hot-rolled seamless tubes.

As far as the current application situation is concerned, cold-drawn steel tubes are mainly used in some mechanical structures, hydraulic equipment, etc., for high dimensional accuracy of steel tubes and high surface finish requirements. The use of cold-drawn steel pipe to make mechanical structures or hydraulic equipment can greatly reduce the number of man-hours used in machining and improve the utilization of materials, as well as improve product quality.
