The Difference And Connection Between The Cold Drawn Tube And The Welded Pipe
Apr 26, 2018

Cold drawn tubes and welded pipes are very different and connected. They are a type of steel pipe, but they are still difficult to distinguish and look similar, but their production methods are different, so the performance of some kind is different.

The cold drawn tube is a kind of steel pipe, which is different from the hot rolling (expansion) pipe according to the different classification of the production process. In the process of expanding the diameter of the billet or raw material pipe, it is made by multi pass cold drawing. It is usually carried out on a single chain or double chain cold drawing machine of 0.5 ~ 100T. The cold rolled (dialing) steel tubes are divided into ordinary steel tubes, low medium pressure boiler tubes, high pressure boiler tubes, alloy steel tubes, stainless steel pipes, petroleum cracking tubes, machined tubes, thick wall tubes and small caliber inner die cold drawn tubes, including thin carbon thin steel tubes, alloy thin-walled steel tubes, stainless steel tubes and special-shaped steel tubes. The outer diameter of the cold drawn steel tube can be 6mm, the wall thickness can be 0.25mm, the outer diameter of the thin-walled tube can reach the 5mm wall thickness less than 0.25mm size, the precision and the surface quality are obviously superior to the hot rolled (expansion) tube, but the diameter and length of the tube are limited by the process.

Welded pipe, also known as welded pipe, is made of steel plate or strip rolled after welding and made of steel tube, generally fixed 6 meters. The welding steel pipe has simple production process, high production efficiency, many varieties and less investment in equipment, but the general strength is lower than that of seamless steel pipe.
